An interesting little tidbit that was tucked away in Modern Warfare's announcement was that the game is set to feature full cross-play between Playstation, Xbox and PC. While a bunch of developers and publishers have been pushing for this for a while, Sony has mostly kept out the game, only making a few exceptions.

A major release like this has always remained out of the question, so it could indicate that the Playstation makers are looking to be more liberal with who uses their platform and how.

Ultimately, this is a good thing, as it could show that Sony is more willing to open themselves up to collaboration now, which will be especially important going into the next generation. For Modern Warfare, however, cross-play means more populated servers, a larger ability for friends to play together, and the bigger chance of controller users to get murdered by mouse-and-keyboard players.
