Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - 10 New Details You Need To Know

6. A Co-Op Mode Replaces Zombies

Long before it was officially announced, it was leaked that Modern Warfare was going to feature a campaign mode, the regular multiplayer suite and a co-op offering in the vein of the original series' fan-favourite Spec-Ops mode.

Though it hasn't been confirmed to bare that moniker, the official description from Activision seems to pretty much all but confirm it, reading:

"Squad-up and play cooperatively in a collection of elite operations accessible to all skill levels."

Consequently, the zombies mode will be thrown out, although that probably shouldn't come as a surprise. Though this third pillar of the COD experience has jumped to other sub-franchises rather than being confined to those created by Treyarch, Activision are clearly wanting to stay as true to the original Modern Warfare brand as possible.

Likewise, with their new focus on realism, Infinity Ward has mentioned how a zany mode like this wouldn't fit with their vision.
