By far the best new addition to COD's multiplayer is WW2's new multi-tiered War mode. Tasking a team to either defend or attack certain points around the battlefield, the new game type is by far the best objective-based mode ever included in the series.

Thankfully though, because the mode requires players to throw themselves at the objectives over and over again in order to progress further in each map, both the kills and deaths acquired while playing this game type don't add to your overall multiplayer combat record.

Consequently, you don't need to worry about your kill-death ratio tanking when you're being repeatedly killed while trying to push forward to build a bridge or escort a tank.

This change was a stroke of genius by Sledgehammer, because once you know that your KDR doesn't hang in the balance, you're more inclined to focus on the objective rather than selfishly hanging back trying to score kills.

The game mode is unlike anything else in WW2's multiplayer suite and requires a completely different style of play, so it's fortunate that the devs have taken that into consideration and found ways to encourage players to deviate from the kill-death focus of most other game types.
