Castlevania Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

1. The Best Onscreen Adaptation For A Video Game (So Far)

Sitting pretty on an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and generally getting positive reviews with only four episodes, it seems as though, at least on the American side of production (Japan being a whole other animal when it comes to animation), that Castlevania might be one of the best (if not The Best) video game adaptations ever put to screen.

The fact that it ranks much higher than the highest rated video game movie on Rotten Tomatoes speaks to its quality, and the writing by Warren Ellis—meant originally for a movie—as well as the fantastic voice acting on top of the stunning animation, makes Castlevania the elite in what's long considered to be a "cursed" genre of video game adaptations.

Standing not only as a great video game adaptation, but also as a great animated series, not to mention a great mature fantasy series, Netflix has definitely hit gold with this surprise hit, and will hopefully continue to deliver the same quality in storytelling and visual artistry as the first season teased. And with more episodes under its belt and more hype for its second season, it may grow the fan following it truly deserves.

That being, one of Netflix's best shows currently running.
