Complete History Of WWE Video Games - Part 1 (1987-1995)

6. "WWF Wrestlemania" (Amiga/Amstrad/Atari/Commodore 64/Dos) 1991

06 Wrestlemania Commodore You thought we were done with the ancient technology didn't you? Well, like Pele in a Viagra commercial, you're going have to deal with one more floppy. WWF Wrestlemania came out on numerous consoles of the time, being slightly different depending on which console you played it on. In it, you can only play as one of three wrestling legends. Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior and... the British Bulldog? You can tell this game was mostly aimed at the European market. In game, the aim is as always to beat everyone else that the game puts in front of you. In order, you were tasked with defeating Mr. Perfect, the Warlord, Ted DiBiase, the Mountie and Sergeant Slaughter. It should be noted that the Commodore 64 version of the game is dire. The ring takes up the entire screen and the characters are as basic as it gets. The Amiga version looks and plays a whole lot better, though it is very short and really easy. Both games are the usual mix of basic punches and kicks, and only feature one real signature move. You can however use chairs from outside the ring. On the whole however, "WWF Wrestlemania" was a bit of a bust and another disappointing addition to the already poor list of games that people still playing on floppy discs were burdened with playing.
