7. "WWF Superstars" and "WWF Superstars 2" (Game Boy)
WWF Superstars was the first ever Game Boy game based on the WWF and was created by LJN and Rare. Though anyone who has ever played it will wonder why they ever bothered. Being a Game Boy game, it was decided that it would have its own engine, which could have turned out well, but went over about as well as a Vince Russo title reign. In all, the roster was made up of five wrestlers: Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase and Mr. Perfect. Again, all wrestlers have the same attacks, making it unimportant who you played as for the most part until the opportunity to hit their one signature move. Strangely, grapples only seemed to work when your opponent was already downed and you picked them up from the mat. Like every other game of the time, the objective was to take control of one wrestler and beat all the rest to become WWF Champion. It was not a good game at all, but it somehow did well enough to warrant a sequel not long after. WWF Superstars 2 was that sequel, and this time added more wrestlers. With the first game being so basic, you'd think that it'd be an improvement but in actuality the sequel ended up having LESS moves than the first one. In this one, signature moves were removed, meaning that every character played the exact same with the only difference being the clothes they were fighting in. In every other way Superstars 2 was identical to the first, including the basis of its tournament mode. Two games to quickly forget and avoid like a Great Khali segment.
