Cyberpunk 2077: 8 Cyberpunk Games You Must Play Before Release

6. Nier: Automata (2017)

A sequel to the 2010 game Nier, Nier: Automata tells the story of three androids and the battle they wage to save a world overrun by machines.

The game is an action role-playing game, with a beautiful open world to explore and a battle system that stays surprising fresh throughout the game's forty plus hour narrative. The story is one of a kind, only matched by it's amazing soundtrack and spot-on voice acting.

Much like the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the androids in this game are much more than just simple machines. Like us, they grow to question their purpose, wonder where exactly they belong in the dying world that surrounds them, and chase memories that, like paint on the side of an old barn, has faded and crumbled over time.

If anime androids slashing through countless machines in a post-apocalyptic world is something you can get into, Nier:Automata is definitely worth checking out.
