Days Gone: 10 Gameplay Details You Need To Know
6. An Open World To Discover
Days Gone
takes place in the Pacific
Northwest, chosen intentionally by the developers due to the extreme range of geographical environments. Allowing you, as the player, to venture through deserts, mountains, caves, river basins, encampments built in the forests, suburbs and more.
All we've seen in gameplay footage so far have been the forests and their embedded encampments, but if the world is as big and diverse as promised players will be in for a visual treat. Especially those with a PS4 pro as the game will be released with full PS4 pro support.
The only concerning point so far seems to be the lack of 'open world' in this open world game. Yes, the current gameplay footage has only shown rocky mountain forests that should naturally create barriers, but the frequency of impassable rock piles and cliff faces encountered in the early gamplay videos invokes memories of the days of invisible barriers; not something you want to experience in a game billing itself as an open world action survival adventure.
