1. Clifford Unger
Once leader of a United States Special Forces team, Clifford Unger is lied to and betrayed by some of the closest people he held dear, one of which included John Blake McClane who would go on to take the name of Die-Hardman. In a desperate attempt to save his child (also known as BB later on) Clifford would meet his end in this lifetime, but would in fact go on to haunt Sam Porter Bridges in his relentless pursuit of BB.
He would go onto save Die-Hardman time and again, leading him to at one point betray his country so Cliff can escape with BB.
His Beaches are unlike any other encountered within Death Standing as they are formed of previous major battlefields throughout time - the Trenches during World War 1, Europe in World War 2 and Vietnam during that messy conflict. On these Beaches, he can summon Skeletal Troopers by will, loyal to the bitter end when so many of his kin let him down.
During the revelation that Cliff is actually the father of Sam before he is separated into the world, they both share a moment, but separated through time. All Cliff ever wants is to have his BB back after it was stolen from him and only at the end does he achieve this, then he can finally lay to rest after such a tortured existence.
