Destiny 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited For The Future
1. The Destiny Content Vault
The biggest surprise out of everything Bungie has confirmed for Destiny 2's future is the Destiny Content Vault. Designed to allow the team to streamline the experience of playing within an ever expanding world, the vault will lock away certain pieces of content from players for a time whilst allowing new content drops from past content in the process.
The reason? According to Bungie, the game is getting too big to maintain in its current state. With every new update or tweek to the experience comes new bugs and issues, a common occurrence when dealing with a game as big and as detailed as Destiny. By taking certain areas out, it allows the team to focus on the now.
So far, locations such as Mars, Io, Titan, Mercury and Leviathan have been confirmed for some vault time during Year 4, along with specific quests or raids attached to them. Though that seems like a lot of content, the studio is intent in bringing various pieces of content back each year in new and expanded ways.
In other words, everything old will eventually be new again. Of course, there's always the rumour that the Darkness will play an in-story role in the removal of said planets, so better get to cleaning up those old quests, Guardian!
