Merciless, at its core, is your basic fusion rifle, but its perks set it apart from everything. If you hit an enemy with this gun but do not kill it, it will make your next shot charge even faster. By the time you get to the end of the magazine this weapon will fire almost instantly granted you haven't killed anything yet. That perk alone makes it one of the best boss melters in PvE right now. It's getting numerous comparisons to Gjallarhorn simply because it's a lot of players go to heavy in terms of taking down bosses.

The only downsides come from the fact that the weapon doesn't hold a lot of ammo considering how fast you burn through it. All those shots will certainly be felt though, as you destroy bosses and high health enemies with ease. Merciless is yet another gun that finds itself undeniably useful in the raid, so be sure you have one before you venture that way.

Merciless holds its own in the Crucible as well, as it will make short work of Guardians who stand in your way. Even if the first shot doesn't take them down, you can take comfort in knowing the next will pump pit even faster.
