Devil May Cry 5: 8 Insanely Promising New Features

5. Realism Reaches New Heights

Capcom will be using mo-cap for all of Devil May Cry 5's major cast members - the payoff for going the extra mile already evident in the lifelike facial expressions seen with Nero, Nico and Dante - but why stop there? It's extending its gaze to encompass clothing, too.

Dante's iconic scarlet-coloured trenchcoat, Nico's petite, tan hide vest jacket and Nero's trendy threads will all be 3D scanned and digitized before their respective owners take them off the rack, providing detail and texture quality so high that you'll be able to see the food stains.

On paper, it's an infinitesimally small feature, but given that Capcom's marketing angle this time around is on photorealism, it's not about to start taking half measures.

Devil May Cry has, and always will be about, besides wasting hordes of demons, style, so it stands to reason that each cast member looks as good as the physics-defying acrobatics they're pulling off in the heat of battle.
