Dragon Age Inquisition: 16 Weird Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed
9. Ponds Distributing Swords Is No Basis For A System Of Government
Now this one isn't that hard to find, given that it's a mission provided by a storyteller over in Redcliffe, but it's still a fun little reference to Arthurian legend.
In one of the random side quests given to the Inquisitor in the Hinterlands, placing a blood lotus as an offering to a spirit at the dock of Lake Luthias incites a Spirit of Valour into blessing the devotee with a sword and some great loot for your coming perils. And for people still starting out, it's a great sword to have for any of your warriors.
It's a clear reference to Excalibur - the sword not in the stone (that was a different sword!) that was given to Arthur by the enchantress called the Lady of the Lake, offering him the magic blade to replace the one he broke (which IS the one from the stone - at least according to some sources).
It also references the Spirit of Valour a circle mage Warden meets in Origins during their harrowing - though the Valour spirit, which appears as a warrior in the Fade, doesn't appear in physical form in Inquisition.
