Dungeons And Dragons 5e: How To Pick Your Class
12. Barbarian
As modern-day luminary Fred Durst once said, sometimes it’s just one of those days when you don’t wanna wake up. For the barbarians, every day is one of those days. Barbarians are hearty mountains of mass that thrive on combat and their own anger to propel them headfirst into battle.
The key feature of a barbarian is the ability to hone their rage, an ability that reduces damage from bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing attacks by half. This can be augmented by different subclasses can offer different aspects in battle, ranging from an increased resistance to every magical type of damage except psychic, to channeling elemental damage around you, damaging all in your wake, to even ignoring death itself, continuing to fight while your character has technically been killed.
Barbarians are superb choices for players who aren’t looking to go over pages of spell effects, who thrive on battle, and are happy to give in to the murder hobo inside of all of us.
