7. Battlefield: Hardline

Luckily, developers Visceral Games have the cash support of EA games to make all these fantasies come to life. Hardline is a completely new take on the Battlefield franchise, setting the player into one of two roles; a robber pulling off the biggest heist of your life, or a straight-laced cop out to take the bad guys in. It's a fairly unique premise - beaten to the punch only by last year's Payday 2 - but this one is backed up by a 70's cop show vibe that is glorious to behold. Hardline also features the trademark Battlefield combat, with huge maps that are soaked with detail, along with a few opportunities to pop some heads. The gameplay demo on display at E3 was mind-blowing, with a huge centrepiece of a crane disaster that continues the Battlefield tradition of ever-changing environments and gameplay styles. The exclamation point of the whole thing was the reveal of a beta that launched right then and there, which is now currently ongoing. EA brought a lot of exciting things to E3, but the Hardline demo was their biggest moment of glory at the event.
