Microsoft has come under a lot of deserved scrutiny of late, implementing features so intrusive anti-consumer into the Xbox One that even the companys fanboys have stripped away their brand loyalty and vowed to move over to Sony or PC, not dissimilar to how one might rebound from a boyfriend/girlfriend onto someone whos the complete opposite of that person. Todays E3 conference was therefore their last chance to recapture some of the market, though whether they have been successful in that endeavour is yet to be seen. Today it has come to light that the Xbox One will be partnered with Doritos and Mountain Dew, meaning, despite having to pay extra for an online service and having to sacrifice 90% of their consumer rights, theyll also have to put up with constant adverts from the two food corporations. Besides from this (and the games well momentarily be getting to) Microsofts E3 presentation informed us of the consoles November release date, a much poorer version of PS Plus for the system that only allows two games a month to be downloaded rather than 14, the ability to play free-to-play game World of Tanks (though you have to pay for it due to the cost of Gold membership), and a new version of the Xbox 360 console thats available today. Oh, and the fact its gonna cost $500/£320, which is also pretty big news. A lot of none exclusive games were shown, including Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which Microsoft used as an opener to the conference, so potential buyers will be happy to know this entertainment console isnt going to revolve exclusively around television. They did, however, lower the previously promised number of exclusive games from 15 to 13, but hey, at least theyve got something. Click "next" below to begin...
