Nintendo's day 1 Treehouse opened with a 3-minute gameplay trailer for the new Zelda, showing off the gorgeous, sprawling open-world, Link riding a horse around the beautiful landscape, climbing, cutting down trees, swimming, hunting, cooking and battling enemies, before revealing the Breath of the Wild sub-title.

In short, it looked awesome, and was enough to ignite child-like fanboy glee in even the most jaded Nintendo fan. Sure, the sub-title sounds a bit silly, but given how amazing the gameplay and visuals look, it's easy to just roll with it.

Sadly that was all we got for almost a solid near-hour, as Pokemon then took control of the livestream before we got to the extended gameplay demo we so desperately craved. On the other hand, the break gave gamers plenty of time to obsessively rewatch the trailer and dissect every frame of it.
