E3 2016: 4 Ups & 7 Downs From Nintendo's Treehouse

3. Pokemon Sun & Moon's Battle Royal Mode

As annoying as most of the Pokemon coverage was, it did reveal a promising new mode for Pokemon Sun and Moon: Battle Royal.

Simply, it's a 4-player, free-for-all battle mode, where players can attack whoever they want and potentially decide to form allegiances to save themselves and others. The winner is determined by whoever defeats the most Pokemon while also having the most remaining Pokemon in their party (you get to pick three).

It looks incredibly fun and could very well be the addictive cornerstone of these new titles. At least it's something new and different, given Pokemon's tendency to stick to the tried and tested formula.
