E3 2016: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Bethesda's Conference

4. Doom & Fallout 4 Get The VR Treatment

Prey Dishonored 2

One of the show's big surprises was that Bethesda are aggressively moving into the VR market, with VR editions of both Fallout 4 and Doom being announced. Little was said of Doom, but Fallout 4 will apparently be landing on the HTC Vive next year.

Still, VR versions of such intense and immersive games are seriously fascinating prospects for anyone on the fence about the technology.

While versions of the games were available to fans at E3 to play-test for themselves, VR tech of course can't really be sold to people over an Internet video, and that continues to be its problem: your average punter wants to test it out for themselves before they sink significant money into buying a unit.
