E3 2017: 22 Jaw-Dropping Video Game Reveals You Need To Know About

1. Metroid Prime 4

Easily the biggest announcement of the show, and thankfully, one that nobody had revealed as a leak beforehand: The return of Metroid!

And proper Metroid this time, too, not the bizarrely family/kid-focused 'Freedom Force' that royally peed everybody off in 2015.

Granted, Nintendo didn't reveal anything about MP4 other than the fact it's in development, but the message was loud and clear: "We heard you, and we've got you."

It's literally been a decade since the last Metroid Prime, Nintendo's only flagship FPS to continually appear across consoles, though the franchise has always held immense weight with Nintendo fans overall. It represents one of the pillars of '90s Nintendo' - a vision of the company that also includes F-Zero, and somewhat caters to a more serious, mature audience, rather than the cutesy delights we tend to see otherwise.

Forget contrasting brand ideals, though. Metroid.is.BACK.
