Monster Hunter is like one of those beloved cult-fanbase bands like Rush, where once you whisper its name in a crowded room, certain people explode in a burst of pure fanboy glee.
In makes sense then, that the franchise make its way to home console, and as we've not seen such a thing since 2011's Wii U edition, taking advantage of the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X will be one of the best multiplayer experiences in history. Literally tasking you with being a hunter accepting quests to fell the biggest beasts around, Monster Hunter comes into its own through meticulously in-depth boss battles, weapon crafting, item and stamina management, and of course, team-up attacks.
Bringing down a Godzilla-sized lizard with a handful of your best mates after a good half hour of discovering its weaknesses is one of the best feelings in gaming, and I can't wait to see what this feels like to play on a whopping great HDTV.
