E3 2018: 10 Xbox-Saving Announcements Microsoft Must Make
7. Definitive Launch Windows For Anticipated Indie Titles
Microsoft might be struggling to bring new blood in, but one department that shows heaps of potential is indies. Cuphead, the meticulously crafted platformer/bullet hell hybrid by Studio MDHR, was something of a saving grace in an otherwise disappointing 2017 for Xbox owners and there's a wealth of similarly promising indies (hopefully) on course for launch this year too.
The importance of that parenthesized word must be stressed because, well, Microsoft has developed a habit of announcing things too early, resulting in hype-killing wait times. Aurora44's Ashen is one such victim. Having been unveiled all the way back in 2014, we're still waiting to hear when the Souls-like adventure will arrive, besides a vague 2018 mentioned at least year's expo.
If Microsoft can deliver on a definitive launch date for Ashen, as well as other indies like Odd Tales' The Last Night, we'll at least have something to look forward to playing this year.
