E3 2018: 8 Ups & 5 Downs From Sony's Conference
5. Ghost Of Tsushima Is A Beautiful Samurai Game
Sucker Punch's new samurai IP Ghost of Tsushima was revealed at Paris Games Week last November, and we got our first glimpse of actual gameplay during Sony's show.
The footage confirmed that at least part of the game will take place during a Mongol invasion, as the protagonist climbs atop his horse and rides through the lush countryside.
Inevitably, of course, a swordfight breaks out against multiple foes, who all meet grisly ends. The most memorable moment, however, is unquestionably a one-on-one swordfight underneath a beautifully rendered, well-weathered tree. Leaves are blowing all over the place, and it's certainly one of the few things we've seen this E3 that could comfortably pass for next-gen.
It remains to be seen whether or not Sucker Punch has learned from Infamous Second Son's problems - fun though it was - but this certainly feels like an encouraging step forward.
