For a while now, it's been hinted that Nintendo are gearing up to release another iteration of the Switch, with a bunch of rumours suggesting that the company have a couple of different versions lined up to release in 2019.

The Wall Street Journal reported back in April that they've spoken to manufacturers who are working on constructing a hardcore version of the Switch, which would essentially be Nintendo's version of the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. This would function as an enhanced version of the console that already exists, retailing at a slightly higher price point (or the same, with the original being knocked down to accommodate it), with better specs, no doubt to keep it somewhat relevant when Sony and Microsoft's more powerful machines drop.

The second version will be a cheaper alternative, and could be the dockless Switch that's been rumoured for months now. Either way, expect to see Nintendo at least hint towards new hardware coming later on this year during their Direct.
