As expected, Microsoft offered fans another glimpse of Halo Infinite's single-player campaign, while also finally dropping the veil on its much-anticipated multiplayer suite.

The latest single-player cinematic trailer showed Master Chief interacting with a new Cortana-esque AI who appears to serve as her replacement, but the real meat of the showing was Infinite's multiplayer reveal.

In addition to reiterating that the multiplayer will be free-to-play, the reveal showed a ton of breakneck online carnage, as well as confirming that the campaign's grappling hook can also be used online for both traversal and combat.

And finally, Microsoft confirmed that Infinite's single-player and multiplayer components will both ship in the holiday window of this year, meaning November or December.

Going by the improved graphical fidelity of the footage on offer, it seems like the game has benefited from the previously-announced delay, after the whole Craig debacle.
