EA UFC 4: 10 Things We Want To See
1. Fixes To The Game's Commentary
Joe Rogan's disdain for recording his commentary audio to be used in-game is pretty much common knowledge now. It's probably no surprise that the legendary commentator and modern-day renaissance man has no time for recording lines for video games after having been doing it for over ten years, starting with the THQ titles. A classic video from Rogan's personal YouTube channel sees him and then-UFC commentator Mike Goldberg recording lines for one of the games.
With EA UFC 3, it was announced that Rogan would no longer be recording new lines of dialogue for the games and that developers would instead comb through old UFC broadcasts to find potential soundbites to include in future games.
This actually isn't the main issue that EA UFC 3 suffered with in terms of commentary. Rather it was the number of bugs that are present in the commentary throughout gameplay. It is not uncommon for your fighter to be praised for landing a picture-perfect left hook when in-fact you finished the fight with a head kick.
UFC broadcasts recently have been blessed with the expertise and commentating nous of fighters such as Daniel Cormier, Dominic Cruz, and Michael Bisping, and EA UFC 4 would benefit massively by including their work into the upcoming game.
