EA UFC 4: 10 Things We Want To See
6. Regular Roster Updates
The UFC roster is currently sitting at over 500 active fighters, and with expansions into Asia planned for the coming year that number doesn't look like decreasing any time soon.
One of the things lacking in the EA games thus far has been the updates to the active roster. While the most recent instalment of the series saw the largest roster ever compiled for an MMA video game, many notable fighters were still absent.
Take for example heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Rozenstruik hadn't even been signed by the UFC when the game was released so it's understandable that he wasn't in the initial roster. However, last year the Surinamese fighter racked up four consecutive knockouts over established opposition, propelling himself into title contention in the process. Despite Rozenstruik's accomplishments he has yet to be added to the roster either through an update or DLC.
But perhaps the most glaring example of this came with the omission of Ben Askren. Again it makes sense as Askren wasn't signed with the company when the game was released. But to not later add one of the most polarising fighters in recent memory, even as DLC, was a huge miss on EAs part. Who wouldn't want to attempt to recreate Jorge Masvidal's record-breaking knockout over Askren in-game?
