Yes, the previous entry was a complaint about DLC, but now we’re talking about expansions. While Oblivion may have had a selection of microtransactions, some of which were good while others were ok, it also had two great expansions.

The First was The Knights of the Nine, where you could become a crusading paladin in the pursuit of defeating an ancient evil. With New Armour, weapons, characters and locations, this was truly an expansion. How could they top this, well we weren’t disappointed?

The second and best expansion for Oblivion was the Shivering Isles, and it still stands out as one of the best expansions released for a game. You were given access to a whole new landmass in the dendric plane of madness.

This land was split between the two types of madness, Mania and Dementia. Both of these areas altered the land and its inhabitants in different ways, giving two distinct feelings to the Isles.

The plot of this expansion charts your progress through the Shivering Isles as your complete quest for an ensemble cast of madmen and rise through the rank of the mad court.

While here you will help someone hunt down an enchanted fork, aid a person who is afraid of cats and uncover a plot that overshadows the whole land, and this is just a taste of the madness that will ensue.
