Everything Removed From GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

7. 2 Player Mode In San Andreas

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition REMOVED
Rockstar

What's more fun than causing untold mayhem by yourself? Bringing along a friend for twice the destruction!

At least, it was back in the original release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. For whatever reason, the developers have decided to completely cull the multiplayer mode from the Definitive Edition, and it's absolutely nowhere to be found.

It's easy to forget that San Andreas actually had this mode in the first place, but it was there, and it was surprisingly robust. It allowed one player to take control of CJ while another was a random NPC character. You had to stay a certain distance away from each other, and could take part in either Rampage-style ultimate mayhem missions or just cruise around in free-roam (again, likely causing wanton destruction).

Seems like a missed opportunity not to include the multiplayer in the Definitive Edition. We can only assume it wasn't included because it didn't play nice in the Unreal engine that the game is built on, but - to be quite honest - the hilarious bugs plaguing the Definitive Edition would probably just enhance the actual fun and hilarity of playing multiplayer even further.
