3. Dynamic World Events
Open-world games have evolved a lot since 2008. In the current gaming climate, it's not enough to just have a massive or detailed open world, but the environments themselves need to feel spontaneous, unpredictable, and most importantly, lived in. While the Fallout series has always had the latter part down, as we've already mentioned how well the franchise has dealt with factions and communities, all the games so far have been lacking in meaningful spontaneous encounters. Although yeah, sometimes you'd get a bounty on your head or you'd be delivered a message out of nowhere, these impromptu events never really felt natural during the course of the previous titles, and would often come at times when you least expected them. But with the newest game Bethesda has promised a vibrant and constantly shifting game world with a variety of wacky and wonderful events to stumble across outside of the main missions. While it was always fun to run across Raiders battling Radscorpions in the old titles, the newest release is planning to up that level of spontaneity and unpredictability to the max.
