Fantasy Premier League: 10 New Transfers You Must Consider

5. Gini Wijnaldum (Liverpool) - £8.0

Gini Wijnaldum is not a newcomer to the league having finished as Newcastle’s top scorer last season with 11 goals. It wasn’t enough however, to stop them from slipping through the trapdoor and into the abyss.

However, now that he is among like-minded individuals at Anfield, Wijnaldum has the chance to flourish. Playing alongside the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane can only enhance his goalscoring exploits.

If he managed to bag such a high tally for one of the worst Newcastle teams in modern times, the Dutchman will secretly fancy his chances of hitting at least 15 for Jurgen Klopp’s expansive, attacking unit.

However, you should be warned that such is Liverpool's wealth of attacking options that the former PSV skipper faces a fight on his hands to remain a first-choice pick for the Reds. It could be argued that Klopp has assembled a slightly top-heavy squad, with an embarrassment of riches to choose from in midfield.

If Wijnaldum fails to pull his weight, then the German will have no hesitation in relegating him to bench duty. One thing is for sure - there can be no repeat of Wijnaldum's away day antics last season, when he failed to register even one goal on the road.
