5. Voice Acting

Far Cry 3 boasts what is easily some of the best voice acting in this generation of gaming; from top to bottom, the performances are memorable and full of character, knowing when to go full-tilt and over-the-top, but also knowing when to rein it in for the more quiet, emotional interludes. Topping the pile is easily Michael Mondo as Vaas, delivering a deliriously psychotic performance that was apparently sourced from real life heartbreak after a relationship ended, and going by his turn here, we imagine she must have been a doozy... It's a rare game where from the small, supporting roles of Jason's goofy teen friends, to the more prominent various heroes and villains, it's exceptionally well cast, and an abnormal amount of care has clearly been put into giving each performance the visceral, emotional kick it needs. Again, this is miles ahead of what the previous games gave us.
