FIFA 13: 8 FIFA 12 Star Players You Should Consider Again

7. Marvell Wynne

The Quickest Defender In The WestClub: Colorado Rapids Nation: USA Position: Centre-back Overall FIFA 13 Rating: 66 Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon might have been the fastest attacking midfielders in FIFA 12, but it was speedy centre-half Marvell Wynne who drew the most attention among certain FIFA fans on the forums thanks to his ridiculous speed and acceleration. The Colorado Rapids player, whose father played Major League Baseball throughout the 80s packed an incredible 97 for Acceleration, and 95 for Sprint Speed, making him one of the most blistering players in the entire game, and not just in terms of defenders. This time out, he isn't quite as Usain Bolt-like, with a dip down to 95 for Acceleration and 91 for Sprint Speed, but those attributes are still well worthy of note, especially considering how relatively little the 5 times capped USA international would command in transfer fees. Worth buying? In reality, Wynne's particular mix of explosive speed, good stamina and high aggression doesn't really make up for his other mediocre ratings, especially for tackling (67 for sliding, 65 for standing), but his pace is still a major draw, particularly for players who find their last line of defence being cut open by speedy midfielders and strikers. Usually those players would be uncatchable, but compromising on the overall quality of the defence in order to accommodate Wynne's specific value might well solve that little problem in some cases. Or it would if he could tackle slightly better than he can. For reasons of pure entertainment, here's Marvell himself being interviewed about some of his personal preferences. Not sure his choice of Nemo over Simba will affect his value on the pitch, but who knows? http://youtu.be/A3-R9N_2guk
