2. Improve The Commentary
Martin Tyler and Alan Smith have been the main commentating duo on FIFA since FIFA 12. I think they are pretty good and by improving the commentary I don't mean that they should replace them, but I think that what they say should be more realistic. I will be sitting playing the semi-final of the FA Cup or Capital One Cup and Martin Tyler will repeat the fact that it's a semi-final about ten times before the game even kicks off. It's quite annoying. Most of the commentary used in FIFA 13 is recycled from FIFA 12, so we have been listening to the same football stories for the past two years, and i know them nearly off by heart. For FIFA 13, they did record a lot of material for the match day feature, which was actually really cool because it was more up to date with real life and I liked the addition of having the commentators talking about new signings. What I would like to hear in FIFA 14 is completely new stories and new ways for commentators to announce different events. It sounds stupid but it does take me out of the game if I can predict what the commentator is going to say especially when he can tell you the colour of the card before the referee even pull it out of his pocket. I'll be playing a Champions' Cup Final, and when I score a goal Martin Tyler will just casually announce it, which is just plain weird. I know he does this all the time but since it's a Champions' Cup Final I thought the commentators would be more excited. The Clive Tyldsley and Andy Townsend tandem was better for that, but I don't use them because their commentary has been recycled since the FIFA World Cup 2010 game. So while I think Martin Tyler and Alan Smith are a good commentating duo and i think they are the best FIFA has had since John Motson and Ally McCoist. And above all else, FIFA 14 would be better if they included new commentary because if I have to hear Martin Tyler talk about how he played for Leicester at Highbury, I might have to hunt him down and slap him in the face.
