FIFA 15: 10 Great Players Who've Already Been Downgraded

7. Andrea Pirlo - FIFA 14: 86, FIFA 15: 84

Renowned as a special player for the entirety of his career, a strange phenomenon occurred in the summer of 2012 when Andrea Pirlo's popularity sky-rocketed to mammoth proportions. Perhaps it was because he had been so readily dismissed by AC Milan, but the rejuvenated Juventus playmaker had football supporters salivating with jaw-dropping skills and sumptuous skills during a tantalizing Euro 2012 showing, capped with that 'panenka' penalty against the English. Pirlo has been reborn at the Stadio del Alpi, weighing in with goals and assists aplenty, so it was no surprise when he was granted the recognition football supporters felt he deserved, with a rating of 86 last summer. In the last year, however, he has waned ever so slightly. As much as football hipsters refuse to admit it, the World Cup winner is not a young man anymore, preparing to blow out 36 candles on his birthday cake at the end of the season. He still made 30 Serie A appearances and chipped in with four goals, but Pirlo's artistry has a time limit, and he can't run on pure adrenaline, high-fibre pasta and fine wine forever. A drop from 86 to 84 isn't substantial, but give it another year, and don't be surprised to see him scrambling for an 82.
