FIFA 15: 10 Great Players Who've Already Been Downgraded

6. Giorgio Chiellini - FIFA 14: 86, FIFA 15: 84

Maybe Luis Suarez' cousin works for EA Sports. Of course, that was the main event that Giorgio Chiellini unwittingly found himself wrapped up in this year, as a Uruguayan maverick sunk his front teeth into the Italian's shoulder for all the world to see. The reason Chiellini has found himself demoted to a paltry 84, as opposed to his lofty position of 86 in last year's edition, however, is that he hasn't quite scaled the heights of the 12/13 season. Winning Serie A with the best defensive record in the country, and thus being named in the 2013 UEFA Team of the Year and seventh-best footballer in Europe will only serve to heighten your profile, and thus the balded centre-half received a weighty score. Last season, Juventus once again won the title, with Chiellini making even more league appearances, but a poor Europa League showing and a disastrous World Cup outing certainly lowered outsiders' perceptions. While the unsavoury bite caught the media headlines, it distracted from a miserable showing from the Italians, in which they lost to both Costa Rica and Uruguay as they slid out of the group. Chiellini is still a top centre-back, but he recently entered his thirties, and may start to lose that yard of pace.
