Widely regarded as one of the greatest English players to have ever kicked a football, Steven Gerrards speed may have declined but the 34-year-old has retained all of the technical skills which earned him his legendary status for club and country. Gerrards FIFA 14 rating was already suitably high to reflect his brilliance as a player his 85 long passing, 86 long shots and 87 penalty ratings were all unaffected by his decline in speed. Gerrard may have been a potent player in FIFA 14 but he is reported to have been upgraded further in FIFA 15 after an exceptional 2013/14 season captaining Liverpool. The prevalent memory of last season is arguably that of an exhausted Gerrard hopelessly chasing after Demba Ba, but it must be remembered that apart from that moment the midfielder had an outstanding season. Despite moving back to a more defensive midfield role where he could utilise his laser-accurate passes to run the show, Gerrard still managed to net an impressive 13 league goals and provide a handful of assists. He may be on the wrong side of 30 but Gerrard will be a vital part of Liverpools campaign in the 2014/15 season and will have to play like he did last year if Brendan Rodgers side stand any chance of success in the Champions League.
