Adam Lallana had been part of the Southampton squad since 2006 but it was only in the 2013/14 season that the 26-year-old showed what he is truly capable of, being arguably the finest player in the squad which surprised many with an excellent season. Lallana not only scored 9 league goals but also provided 6 assists, proving himself to be the rare breed of player who can look good while simultaneously making everyone around him play better. Lallana made the move to Liverpool with Southampton teammates Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert. Of this ex-Southampton trio, Lallana was predictably the most expensive, costing Brendan Rodgers side a reported £25 million. In 2013/14 Lallana was literally flooded with awards and accolades. The amazing dribbling and passing skills of the attacking midfielder meant that Lallana would not only be one of only six players shortlisted for the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award but he also received his first ever World Cup call-up to play for the ill-fated England squad in Brazil. After such an incredible season EA had no choice but to give the newly signed Liverpool player a hefty statistical upgrade. Liverpool would certainly not part with £25 million for a player rated below 80 so it makes sense to see Lallana given an 83.
