FIFA 15: 50 Highest Rated Players In 2014

5. Manuel Neuer - Bayern Munich (90)

POSITION: GK - DIVING: 87 - REFLEXES: 86 - HANDLING: 85 - SPEED: 58 - KICKING: 92 - POSITIONING: 90 Manuel Neuer is as unbeatable as they come. He is by far and away the best goalkeeper in the world, and he's not going to be moving from his 90's rating for a very long time. The German number one has only just reached his peak - so just imagine how much longer he's got as the best goalkeeper around. He will of course be pushed by Thibaut Courtois, but Neuer has a good few years on his nearest rival at the very highest level. Neuer is the hardest of all to score past on the FIFA series of games, and it's going to become even tougher this time around.

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovi‡ - Paris Saint Germain (90)

POSITION: ST - PACE: 76 - DRIBBLING: 86 - SHOOTING: 91 - DEFENDING: 34 - PASSING: 81 - PHYSICAL: 86 Daring to Zlatan is becoming so popular you may aswell coin the phrase into the English language. The Swede is a great football character off the pitch and a maverick on it, and he's shown before that he is capable of performing some extraordinary and sublime skills. Nothing encapsulates his 91 rating for shooting more than his incredible half-volley goal against Anderlecht in the Champions League last season. While we all wish we could play like him, the only time most of us mere mortals will be able to #DareToZlatan is on a games console.

3. Arjen Robben - Bayern Munich (90)

POSITION: RM - PACE: 93 - DRIBBLING: 92 - SHOOTING: 86 - DEFENDING: 32 - PASSING: 83 - PHYSICAL: 64 There's a maturity to Arjen Robben's game that has emerged over the last year. The Dutchman has proven himself to be a world class talent who can truly cut it at the top, after so many nearly moments in earlier years. His displays at the World Cup were sometimes scintillating, with Robben truly instrumental in the unbelievable 5-1 drubbing of Spain. Robben is still quicker than most players on the new FIFA game - and he's somehow seemed to have gotten faster as he's aged. Coupled with outstandingly quick feet, Robben is a top three player this year.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid (92)

POSITION: LW - PACE: 93 - DRIBBLING: 91 - SHOOTING: 93 - DEFENDING: 32 - PASSING: 81 - PHYSICAL: 79 Now this decision is the one that has caused the most debate. How is the Ballon d'Or crowned, Champions League winning, La Liga top scorer still not rated as the best player on FIFA? We all know who's first, but surely a half injured Ronaldo in a poor Portugal team couldn't have dragged them to the final. That's too much to expect. Cristiano just wants to be known as the world's best. He's proven it to everyone this year, but sides will always be taken. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't convinced EA that he's worthy just yet.

1. Lionel Messi - Barcelona (93)

POSITION: CF - PACE: 93 - DRIBBLING: 96 - SHOOTING: 89 - DEFENDING: 27 - PASSING: 86 - PHYSICAL: 62 Here he is. The king retains his throne - despite much contention. Lionel Messi is perhaps a victim of his own high standards, after he and Barcelona suffered a poor season last term (though Messi still scored 41 goals and Barca came second in La Liga). But Leo was outshone by Cristiano Ronaldo over the course of the last year, and deserves to be second on the list to his Portuguese nemesis - or at the very least at a level rating. Arguably the Argentinian master makes the top of the list because he's featured on the cover of the game, but that's merely speculation. Rumoured ulterior motives and conspiracy theories will continue to fly around, but we'll just have to live with it. Leo's not a bad player though, is he? Who do you think deserves a higher or lower rating on the list? Did FIFA get the Messi/Ronaldo debate correct? Let us know with your comments!
