However, the Slovenian bounced back to prove he is a few classes above the Scottish second division after nine goals in 13 appearances for Rangers. Even though that sort of form doesn't do anything to prove he is good enough for the Magpies' squad, the fact he finally strung a number of games together indicates he could have turned the conner in his battle against injuries. This will surely give him the chance at least to prove Steve McClaren, and a slightly sceptical Magpies following, that he is indeed all that he was cracked up to be a few short years ago.
