Forget about his personality and misdemeanours, he's constantly proved himself to be a bold leader and fearless footballer on the pitch, and that's how ratings are determined. He was instrumental during Chelsea's title triumph last season, providing a largely airtight base for Jose Mourinho to build on. However, he's been bumped up two marks, despite a poor start to this current season. He hasn't looked himself in the opening weeks of the campaign, being substituted and red-carded in two separate games. He was already on a high rating, and EA are usually conservative with their upgrades, so a 2+ boost is surprising.
