As much as EA Sports have talked up the improved challenge that FIFA presents nowadays, there were still so many flaws in the AI that could be taken advantage of. Right now, those don't seem to prevalent in the new game, which is definitely something that merits a mention.

The very first match played on the FIFA 17 demo whilst preparing for this article resulted in a 4-1 hammering. Playing on the Legendary difficulty became all too easy over time in 16, so it was quite eye-opening to get thrashed as Chelsea by Seattle Sounders! Quickly, the difficulty level was adjusted, tail firmly between legs.

Only then did some of the intricacies, such as the slower, more measured passing and the way defenders cover in much more realistic fashion become clearer. At a gentle pace, confidence began to build, before then being much more defensively minded when attacking the harder difficulties again.

For even the most seasoned FIFA players, avoid the World Class or Legendary settings at first if you want to keep your pride in tact.
