FIFA 18 Top 100: 7 Biggest Surprises

4. Vincent Kompany Sneaking In (84)

EA said themselves that the Top 100 was drawn together via in-depth analysis of player "performances from the past year of football". It's totally baffling then that often-injured Man City defender Vincent Kompany is even on the list at all. He only played 15 matches in league and cup last season for City.

Usually seen watching from the stands these days, the Belgian is a great CB when he's fit, but those occasions are becoming increasingly rare with each passing season. Seeing him stroll onto the list in the 84th position ahead of last season's superstars like Dele Alli (93rd on the list) and Liverpool's Senegalese sensation Sadio Mané (98th) is hard to stomach.

EA obviously rate Kompany and haven't taken his injuries into account. That's weird, because they quite clearly took the injury woes of Zlatan Ibrahimović to heart this year. The Swede dropped from 7th in FIFA 17 to 30th this season, and that must be due to his own fitness problems.
