FIFA 19: 10 Changes To Be Most Excited About

5. Survival Mode

FIFA 19
EA Sports

During the intro, it was said that EA are bringing FIFA Street-style elements to the main FIFA series. That's why they're implementing the new "Survival Mode". A clear homage to "Last Man Standing" in Street, this feature will see successive players from the defending team eliminated from play with every goal they concede.

This. Will. Be. Fun.

Goalkeepers are naturally exempt from elimination (somebody has to try and stop those Timed Finishes that could, and probably will, break their hands if gamers get the timing right), but the mode isn't available online. Yes, though that's slightly disappointing to hear, it does open up the chance for some old-school on-the-couch play with friends.

Further proving that EA are putting a lot of thought into this, Martin Tyler and Alan Smith will even have new commentary lines designed around Survival's rules. The long-serving duo will discuss tactics, eliminations and how they'll impact the final outcome.
