FIFA 19: 10 Changes To Be Most Excited About

6. Champions League Integration

FIFA 19 Champions League
EA Sports/UEFA

EA dealt a major blow across Konami's bows by snagging the Champions and Europa League licences from PES this year. There's no doubt that official licensing was one of the remaining reasons why regular FIFA players picked up Konami's title in the sales a few months after release. Without it, they're going to struggle.

Forget launching a Champions League campaign from the main menu though. It's that integration into other modes that should get the blood pumping.

Take Career Mode, for example. Kissing goodbye to the lacklustre "Champions Cup" and "Euro League" talk from the commentary team is going to be sweet, and it's an extra bonus that BT Sport mic men Derek Rae and Lee Dixon are coming along for the European adventure as new commentators too.

Then, there's The Journey. That glitzy Champions League branding should be heavy in Alex Hunter's final leg, and it'll surely play a major role in upping the authenticity of his story. This, more than any other, is EA's biggest licensing coup for a generation.
