FIFA 19: 10 Changes To Be Most Excited About
4. Matches With No Rules
Apparently, the decision-makers at EA were fans of 2002's RedCard Soccer on PS2 and Xbox. That's the only reasonable justification for including a "No Rules" mode that will have FIFA veterans going against natural instincts by flying into tackles and deliberately taking rival players out of the game.
From the Kick Off menu, it'll be possible to turn cards, offsides and even fouls off completely, thus allowing you to snap ankles with glee and then run up the pitch for a crack at goal. In other words, expect to get into some hearty arguments with pals about adding insult to, quite literal, injury.
Bring it on.
Referees in FIFA can be a little card-happy at times anyway, so it's nice to know those who hate pesky rules will have the option to switch them off. This is another example of EA's dedication to making 19 a more fun experience overall rather than a stuffy attempt to mimic the real sport.
Other aspects of the game will do that anyway, and it'll be a laugh to muck around without fear of penalisation.
