Last Year's Rating: 86

Eighty six. Eek!

Everyone's favourite Sideshow Bob-lookalike David Luiz ranked 60th overall in EA's Top 100 last year. That's respectable, and he ranked above everyone from Bayern Munich's David Alaba (67) and Barcelona's Jordi Alba (74) to Spurs CB Jan Vertonghen (80) and club mate César Azpilicueta (76).

To put that into ratings terms, Luiz, at 86, was considered one point better than Alba, Vertonghen and Azpilicueta. Alaba had the same overall score, yes, and yet his defending and physical stats were slightly slower than the Chelsea man's. Hmm, we're not sure about that.

Luiz has attributes, nobody can deny that. 86 is high however, and EA need to stop getting carried away just because he's in the Prem playing for a top team. Dropping his score by two full points so guys such as Alaba and Vertonghen (in particular) are better would be smart.
