FIFA 19: 8 Surprises From The Top 100 Players
6. Handanovic?
Then, there's the confusing case of Inter Milan keeper Samir Handanovic.
Someone at EA must be a huge fan of the Nerazzurri. That's the only reasonable explanation for why Inter's 6'4" stopper has risen from #46 to #39 in FIFA 19. It's not like Handanovic is in a side flying high at the moment either; Inter have had a poor start to the campaign, winning only one of their opening three Serie A fixtures.
Here's a shortlist of players EA believe Samir is better than: Liverpool's Sadio Mané, Real Madrid's Keylor Navas, bloody Andrés Iniesta, Man Utd's Romelu Lukaku and French World Cup winning teenager Kylian Mbappé. Figure that one out.
It's not that Handanovic is a bad player (he's not), but he's strangely high on this year's Top 100, and there's no real reason for it. His stats barely compare to the aforementioned Gianluigi Buffon, yet they both share the same 88 overall rating.
