12. Zack Fair

So with Zack, you just take your Cloud model and add black hair.
As a character we never get to meet in the present day, Zack has an important part to play in our story. Cloud basically IS him when you first start the game.
Zack was the SOLDIER, Zack was the strong-willed fighter, and Zack is who wielded the Buster Sword. Unfortunately, he met his end protecting Cloud and taking on an ambush from Shinra soldiers.
Once the facade falls later in the story, we'll see that some of the memories and flashbacks told to us by Cloud were really in Zack's perspective. You'll soon realize that he's the one that caught Aerith's attention, and she's reminded of Zack when she first meets Cloud.
Although we never got to spend much time with the real Zack, he appeared later in the Crisis Core prequel.
