Final Fantasy 7: Ranking Every Main Character From Worst To Best

13. Cid Highwind

Final Fantasy 7 Cloud
Square Enix

Cid's look is fine, just don't question why he has to wear goggles at all times. His personality is a problem though. He is absolutely terrible to Shera. Even our own party members comment on how out of line he is. He doesn't stop there as he also yells at his crew members.

No sir, I do not want any "goddamn TEA" if you're going to have that kind of attitude.

His usefulness is a bit overrated. He's basically another "warrior" type with weak magic skills. Since he's the last main character you pick up, Barrett will already be established as your go-to tank. That being said, Cid has some of the best limit breaks at every level. Each limit is stronger and cooler than the last. Highwind is literally one of the best attacks in the entire game.

A character remembered fondly, Cid's personality and usefulness really didn't age well. He'll step up for a couple chocobo races and he'll have a few strong attacks.

In the end, his story really just amounts to: he's sad he didn't go to space, he takes it out on everyone around him, he finally goes to space and realizes he's been a butt, and helps save the world in his spare time.
